Can I create something like this with the SRP EditTable control?

The desire is to populate it with records from an OI table and allow the selection of rows via the check boxes, with the left-top corner box selecting all the rows.

Thanks,
Roger

  • Hi Roger - The SRP EditTable does not have a property for creating a checkbox in the header row. However, you can put a hyperlink there as a way of communicating to the user that they can click there. Either way, you can capture the click on the header and use it to set/unset the checkboxes for each row.
  • Hi Don,
But I can put check boxes in the header column?
    Thanks,

  • I don't believe so. It's the same as header rows, so it's text, hyperlink or flashing text.
What you would need to do is hide the header column and style the first data column to mimic the desired header column appearance/functionality.
  • Looking at the data, and I may be off base here, but I get the sense that there may not be a need to actually edit this data. Not in this table at least.
If that's the case, I'd consider using the reporttable instead of the edittable just for the benefit of the built in sorting/grouping functionality it provides.
  • Roger - As Mark commented, the same limitation in header rows applies to header columns. Also as Mark suggested, you could hide the headers and style a data column/row to mimic a header and then you'll have more options. The ReportTable is a great alternative for non-editable data as it offers more functionality out of the box and it does support checkboxes in rows. However, but you'll have similar limitations in the header and you will not have the ability to hide it and style a row as an enhanced header.

True. Here's a couple of methods I've used to achieve that goal. Just needs a touch of real estate outside of the table itself.
