Different Styles for Strings

Can I suggest different styles for strings, depending on whether they are single quoted or double quoted?
We have different conventions for each.

    I'm curious, you use single vs. double quoted strings for different purposes? I realize that sometimes this is necessary to support embedded quotes or to satisfy some syntax requirements, but you seemed to suggest that you have quote conventions in the way developers have naming conventions.

    I've noted this. I can see it's usefulness. I used to always use double quotes for strings and single quotes for characters... just looked right to me coming from C++.

    In our case we use single quotes for system literals and double quotes for anything that could be presented to the user.

    Eg (just for illustration ;)

    Set_property_only( statusLine, 'TEXT', "Finished - check your printer's out tray")
