Pro Control Installation
The download link for the pro controller is an installer which is nice and neat for my local installation.
Is it necessary to use it for every installation?
I want to upgrade a 24/7 client and historically we would place a copy of the control in a predefined location on the server. Every users login script copies the file from that location to a local drive, unregisters the previous and registers the new one.
Using the installer, I'm concerned I'm going to hit file lock issues that are going to leave us in the lurch so is it possible to still use the same approach? Once I've updated my local copy, can I just copy the ocx to the client server and expect it to work or is it a little more involved than that now and hence the installer?
