Batch.Indexing

Hola all,

Back in the Arev days, there was a routine called Batch.Indexing that would buffer index transactions when plowing through and updating a table. Does anyone know if there has been anything comparable for OI? Or has the need for something like that been eliminated?

I don't think I've seen an OI alternate of Batch.Indexing, but Batch.Indexing does exist in OI (i.e., $BATCH.INDEXING exists in SYSOBJ). Therefore I'm inclined to think it works, although there might be some caveats related to the expectation that it was added to support AREV32.

As far as there being a need for this, I don't know if there is much value in it today as there once was when memory was limited and disk drives/networks were slower.
