SRP Editor version and SRPEditor.ocx versions are out of sync

I just installed the latest version of SRP Editor (3.4.11.0) and when I look at the version number it shows the old version number for the Editor Version and the new version number for the SRPEditor.ocx. I've tried re-registering the .ocx file but that has not resolved the issue. Am I missing something?

  • Hi Sandra - I'd like to verify a few things with you. Are you running this from OI9 or OI10? When you say "it shows the old version number", what version number are you seeing? If it helps, you can post a screenshot here. It might help for me to spot the issue better.
  • I am using OI10. I have experienced this on several different servers running different versions of SRP but all upgrading to the latest version.
  • Thank you for the screenshot. This explains the symptom quite well. I am assuming you downloaded the installer from the SRP Editor page on our product website.

I re-tested this installer to make sure there weren't any problems with the installer itself. It installed v3.4.11.0 of the SRP Editor and the SRPEditor.ocx. So I think something else is going on.

Before I suggest what I think might be happening, can you confirm what application you are opening this About screen in? If it isn't SYSPROG, can you check to see if you get a different result from SYSPROG?
  • I did download the installer from the product website. I opened the about screen in the SRP Editor from my admin user. I tested it again logging in as SYSPROG with the same result.
  • Again, thank you for checking. The problem is slightly different than I had thought. What we are seeing is the OCX has been updated but not the content of the RDK which contains the OpenInsight entities. That seems to be failing. I don't suppose you witnessed any errors appearing in the installer while it was executing its commands, did you?

My theory is that the RDK portion is failing for reasons related to how OI10 and the UD5 work to gain access to Revelation files. I'd like you to try something. Download just the RDK files from this link:

    SRP_EDITOR_BUNDLE_RDK64

Make sure you unzip it into a sub-folder of your OI10 folder. It is probably easiest to just put it under the OI10\RDK folder. Once that is done, then run the RDKINSTALL command against this folder or use the OI10 Install RDK Module menu under Tools.

Let me know if that resolves the problem.
