Excessive flashing

I noticed that my OI window was 'flashing' or 'flickering' unnecessarily at certain points during movement around the window and launching of ribbon commands. I narrowed it down to the OLE.TabVisible property of the ribbon. I've since nested the TabVisible off and on between REDRAW off and on but this didn't seem to help. It's worth noting that I am currently using the SRP Ribbon as a replacement for launching the window softkeys. Upon clicking a ribbon item I am setting TabVisible to '0' prior to launching a softkey call to another window or dialog box, and then setting TabVisible to 1 upon return. Amy suggestion on eliminating this flashing \flicker?

    The flashing might be due to the Ribbon's attempt to display "hints" when the Alt key is pressed. Are these soft keys using the Alt key?
