Can the ribbon control be laid out vertically

Hi,

we are creating a "side panel" form for our call center app. Our initial go at it uses a plain form:

I was wondering if the ribbon control could work? Do you think so?

First of all, can the ribbon control be laid out vertically?

  • The SRP Ribbon Control is hardwired to be at the top of the form. This is because, in addition to displaying buttons and tabs, the ribbon also takes over the form's title bar and edges to provide a more advanced look and feel.

We've typically use the SRP Tree Control for sidebar menus.

    Hi,

Thank you for your response. Would you recommend the tree panel over the shortcut bar? An important consideration is space efficiency, i.e., how much screen space is required to show a certain amount of info.
  • I find it has to be a case by case consideration. I personally like the shortcutbar but more often than not end up using the tree control simply because it has so much more functionality/flexibility.

It's probably going to be a try it and see answer.
Your sidebar looks good so it really depends on how much and what else you want to do.
  • ok, we are going to try the tree control.

    Thanks
