Editor Options

Where on the disk are the Options stored (e.g. Tab Width, Style, Auto Text, etc.) ?

I want to transport them from computer to computer, If possible.

Thank You.

  • The options are stored in the registry. Someday we plan to move it out of there to make it easier to transport, but for now, here's how to do it.

    1. Go to the Start menu and click Run. (Or, use the Win+R shortcut). Type 'regedit' and press Enter.
    2. Drill down to the following node in the tree: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SRP\SRPEditor.
    3. Right click SRP Editor and choose Export. This will create a .REG file.
    4. On the new machine, double-click the same .REG file to import all those settings into the registry.

That should transport all your settings. If you have any further questions, please reply to this forum and I will follow up as soon as possible.

Where are the options kept now

Does OI9 & OI10 share the same options.
  • As Keven suggested in 2013, the themes are shared between OI10 & OI9 because when I change the theme in OI9 the same theme appears in OI10
I use the theme "Deep Black" in OI9 but after installing the latest SRPeditor.ocx there is many text NOT visible
    OI9 before update Editor 3.4.5.0:

    After copying Editor 3.4.7.6:

  • Chris is right. The assumption is that you want your code editing options to apply to all instances of OI, so those are stored in the registry. Anything specific to a particular instance of OI is stored in SYSENV.
  • The theme behavior between SrpEditor.ocx version 3.4.5.0 and version 3.4.7.6 are NOT the same as demonstrated in the images in the previous comment.
  • 3.4.7.x is technically beta, and there are a lot of changes. Try this newer beta RDK.
  • there are a lot of changes

If you have created a changes list yet, would you like to post so I can do some tests for you.
  • Mmmm, dont think this looks right - OI10 RDK64 install

  • ...and the OI9 one. Bit better, but, compile shows no information.
    btw: The previous OI10 was 10.2.3 beta1

  • I'm aware of the issue, but I've been out of the office. I'll pursue this after Thanksgiving. In the meantime, I recommend reverting to the official release. You'll lose the recent fixes, but you won't be stuck.
  • Ok, thanks, all good
