FYI I dont see the issue in 3.4.7

But what I just noticed is that in OI9 the save button is always enabled and in Oi10 the button is disabled until a change is made (which is more betterer!).
  • Yes, it's fixed in 3.4.7.
  • No I am wrong, it's not fixed. It seems to be intermittent.
  • @jimvaughan - Please confirm which version of OI you are using. Also, is "sys_file" a general reference to any system table (SYSENV, SYSPROCS, SYSREPOS, etc.)? Please offer any other specific information or patterns of behavior that might helps. (FWIW, I'm not able to duplicate, so more details on this the better.)
  • No I have a table called sys_file. I use it to store configuration settings for the app.
    OI 9.4
I just rebooted the laptop to see if that helps.
I can't see what makes it happen...
... I'll note what I was doing if it happens again.
3.4.7 made it better BTW, it was all the time, now its intermittent.
  • It happens when I open a file from the favorites list.
  • Any record that is opened from the favorites list does not have a save button.
  • Jim - Do you mean the button disappears or is not enabled?
  • Not enabled.
  • It won't be enabled by default because there haven't been any changes. If you edit the record, does the button become enabled?
  • If I open a record with the open menu the button is enabled. If I open it via favorites, it is not.
If I edit the record, it does not become enabled.

  • For me it seems to be enabled at all times, for favourites or otherwise and regardless of edited status

That said, when I inadvertently save a locked record, this popped up.

  • Version 3.4.8 is available through our Product site. I'm running an unreleased 3.4.9. Sooner or later you'll be upgrading so would you mind testing what's now available and letting us know if things have improved?
  • Version 3.4.9 is on the Products site and should fix the issue.
  • I'll try the new version, thank you.
  • Issue persists.
  • I rebooted and it seems to be fixed :)
  • Nope closed OI, Re-opened OI and it's broken again. What on earth?
  • ...and now it's working again. What on earth is causing this.

    Do the following:
Open the editor with a record already open from a previous session.
Then close the open record. The save button is disabled.
Opening a record from favorites does not re-enable it.

The save button gets disabled if I close all open records. It then never gets re-enabled when I open a new record either from favorites, file open, or the recent file list. Editing the record does not re-enable the save button.

Okay, I was finally able to recreate this. The missing context was that it only happens if you close all entities (records or otherwise) and then reopen some.
  • yes, it took me awhile to figure out what was going on.
  • Jim, version 3.4.10.0 fixes it. You can download the installer here.
  • Cool, many thanks.
  • I can confirm that it is fixed.
  • Getting following error with version 3.4.10.0
  • Maybe the ole did not register as it was open.
Reboot and register the ocx again.
  • Jim - I'm thinking along the same lines as Barry. What do you see in the SRP Editor's About window?
  • The DLL in my OI install directory is version 3.4.9.1

  • I re-installed and the problem is fixed.
